Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of VCF.cards ("the Service"), operated by VCF.cards ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. The Service
The Service lets you create and share digital business cards — a public profile page, a downloadable vCard (.vcf) file and a QR code — and, on paid plans, additional features such as team member cards, custom branding, analytics and API access. The Service may be updated or extended from time to time, and features may change between plans.
3. Accounts and registration
You must provide accurate, current information when registering and keep it up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for everything done through your account. If you use "remember me", you accept the security implications of a persistent session on that device. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans (monthly or yearly) renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard or the Stripe billing portal; after cancellation your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free tier unless your plan cannot be downgraded. Extra team seats purchased as add-on packs are billed on the same cycle as your subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe under their terms; you agree to pay all charges on time, including any applicable taxes. We may change prices with reasonable notice — changes only apply to your next billing period, and you can cancel before they take effect.
All fees are non-refundable except where required by law. If your payment fails, we will attempt to retry and may downgrade or suspend your paid features until the balance is settled.
5. Content you publish
You retain all rights to the content you add to your cards. By publishing content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, display, transmit and process that content solely to provide the Service to you (including generating your profile page, QR codes and vCard files). You are solely responsible for the accuracy, lawfulness and quality of your content, including content published by your team members.
6. Public nature of cards
Cards are public by design: your profile URL and QR code can be shared by anyone who receives them, and the information on your card can be downloaded as a vCard by anyone. You acknowledge that data others have already downloaded cannot be retrieved by us. You should only publish information you are comfortable being public.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to publish or transmit content that is unlawful, defamatory, misleading, fraudulent, harassing, hateful, or that infringes the rights (including intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights) of others; to send spam or mass unsolicited communications; to impersonate any person or entity; to attempt to interfere with, probe, or compromise the security or availability of the Service (including scraping, load-testing or unauthorised API use); to distribute malware; or to use the Service in breach of any applicable law or regulation.
Your unique profile slug and any subdomain are resources of the Service; we may remove or reassign slugs that are impersonating a brand or individual, or that are otherwise used in breach of these Terms.
8. Team members and business accounts
If you are a Business-plan owner, you are responsible for your team members: for their actions on the Service, for setting their access (including whether they can log in), and for ensuring you have the right to add their information to your account and share it publicly. Team members accept these Terms by using the Service. Seats are limited by your plan; you must not exceed the number of seats you have purchased. You can remove members at any time, and members you remove immediately lose access.
9. API access
API access (Business plan) is provided subject to these Terms and to fair use. API tokens are personal to your account; keep them secret and revoke them if exposed. You may not use the API to replicate, resell or redistribute the Service.
10. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, logos and the free-tier QR watermark, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute or reverse-engineer it, except for downloading your own vCard and QR code for your own use as intended by the Service.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that generated vCards will be accepted by every device or application.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Termination and suspension
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings; your profile will be removed from the public site and your subscription cancelled. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, or delete content, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or that the Service is being used unlawfully or abusively. Where practical we will notify you in advance. On termination your right to use the Service ends, and we may delete your data in line with our retention practices.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where significant, by notifying you in the dashboard or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which VCF.cards is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where consumer-protection law in your country of residence applies and cannot be waived, it takes precedence.
16. Contact
